Exporting Pages and Overlays

When you create a form, all pages are embedded in the file. However, you may find that many of the form pages you design are similar. You can export them as individual files and use them as a base for new pages instead of starting from scratch. Altering an existing page to fit your needs will save you a great deal of time.

Overlays can also be exported as individual files. If you use overlays to customize forms, you may often need to use the same overlays for different forms or for each page in a form. By exporting your overlays to external files, you can reuse them as needed by applying them to your form pages instead of creating the overlay in your form.

If you distribute the same forms to different customers, you can create sets of base pages, use them to build individual forms, and add customer-specific overlays for logos and company names. If you also keep a library of standard overlays for each customer, developing customer-specific forms becomes simply a matter of adding the pages to build the forms, then adding the appropriate overlays.

Pages and overlays can be exported for both SFX and XTemplate forms. They can also be imported into either format, regardless of origin, so you can easily add a page or overlay from an XTemplate form to an SFX form or vice versa.
