Creating Lines
You can draw vertical, horizontal, or slanted line segments of any length. Lines can be used as separators, or you can combine line segments to create different designs.
Activating lines
To draw lines on your
form, lines must be activated. If lines are not activated, the line tool will be
grayed out. When lines are activated, the
on the Activate tool bar
looks like it is pushed in:
If your
button is not pushed in, you
will need to activate lines before you can use the line tool.
Click the
on the Activate tool bar. The button will remain
pushed in and your line tool will be activated.

1. Open the View menu and select Activate.
2. Select Lines from the Activate submenu.
Drawing lines
Horizontal and vertical lines are useful for dividing form pages into sections to make them more readable.
To draw lines1. Click the
button on the tool bar or press

on the keyboard. The mouse pointer will change to a

2. Place the + of the mouse pointer at the point where you want to begin your line.

3. Hold the left mouse button down and drag the mouse to create the line:

To draw lines that are vertical, horizontal, or
at a 45-degree angle, hold the
key down as you draw the line.
4. When the line is the length you want, release the mouse button. Click anywhere on the page to see the finished line.
