Checking Spelling for a Page

The spell checker can be run from either the menu or the command tool bar to check all text boxes on your form page. If it finds a questionable word, it will be displayed in the Check Spelling dialog. The field label in the dialog box indicates the type of error (Not in Dictionary, Doubled word, Capitalization, etc.). The word in question will also be high­lighted in context in the field at the bottom of the dialog box.

To check spelling for a page

1. Do one of the following to start the spell checker:

  • Click on the tool bar.

  • Open the Tools menu and select Check Spelling.

2. If the spell checker finds a questionable word, it will be displayed in the Check Spelling dialog box:

  • The text in the current text box will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

  • The word in question will be highlighted.

3. Correct or ignore the error, following the instructions below.

Note:

If no errors are found, the Check Spelling dialog will not open. All you will see is a message in the status bar:

To correct a spelling error

1. Do one of the following to replace the misspelled word with a new spelling for the word:

  • Select a replacement from the Suggestions field by clicking on the word.

  • Correct the misspelled word in the dialog box or type a replacement.

2. Click one of the following to make your correction:

  • To change only this instance of the word, click .

  • To change all occurrences of the word, click .

Note:

If you want more suggestions before you select a replacement word, click and the spell checker will search for more options.

To leave a word “as is”

Do one of the following to leave the word as is:

  • Click . The word will be left in its original spelling.

  • Click to ignore all occurrences of the word. All occurrences of the word will be left in their original spelling.

To correct repeated words

When a repeated word is caught, the button will change to and all other options except will be grayed out:

  • To delete one instance of the repeated word, click .

  • To ignore the repetition, click .
