Changing the Password Prompt Defaults
You can set your system up to automatically enter or supply the passwords of your choice for your SFX files during development to make opening and saving files easier. You can specify global administrative and user passwords for your files and choose whether you want to be prompted for the password. This setting does not affect XTemplate files, as passwords for these files are not entered through I-32 Forms Design.
If you choose not to be prompted—
-
When you save a file for the first time, the file will be saved with your global default passwords automatically.
-
When you save an existing file, your file will be saved with its current passwords.
-
When you open a file, the program will try to open it with the global administrative password. If it does not match, you will be prompted for a password.
If you choose to be prompted—
-
When you save a file for the first time, the prompt will display your default global passwords. You then have the option of either accepting the defaults or changing them.
-
When you save an existing file, the prompt will display the current passwords for the file. You can change them if necessary before saving the file.
-
When you open a file, you will be prompted for a password.
If you always use the same passwords during development, not displaying the prompt is the most efficient way to operate. If you change administrative passwords frequently or assign different user passwords based on the end-user environment, you will want to display the prompt each time.
The prompt for password option only affects Open and Save. It does not affect Save As. When you save a file with Save As, you will always be prompted for passwords.
To set password entry options

3. Select your Prompt for Password option:
