Changing the Font Size
The font size is the height of your font. Font sizes are always given in points, regardless of the unit of measure you selected for your forms. If you are using scalable fonts, such as TrueType, you can enter any size. If you are using a non-scalable font set, you may only select from the predefined standard sizes.
When choosing a point size, you must make sure the size will fit in the allotted space on your form:
-
If the font height is larger than the height of your text box, the font size will be changed to the largest size that will fit. If the font is not too tall but the text will no longer fit as a result, the text box will be filled with asterisks instead.
-
If you choose a font size that is too large for a data field, the value entered by the user may not fit in the data field, even though you allowed enough characters in your data field definition. If the font height is greater than the data field height, the font size will be changed to the largest size that will fit. If the font height fits in the data field but the width is too large, the description will wrap to the next line if there is room. Otherwise, asterisks will appear.
-
If the font size you enter for a system text box is too tall for the height of the text box, the font will be changed to the largest size that will fit. If the font size is not too tall but the text does not fit in the box as a result, the text in the box will be truncated. If the box is tall enough, the text may wrap instead.
In all cases, you will need to increase the size of your text box, data field, or system text box or reduce the size of the font.
