Barcode Fields

Barcode fields are used for displaying scanable bar codes on your forms. They can be used for loan numbers, account numbers, ID numbers, or other data that requires a scanable format. Like all other data fields, they require an ID and description. You can specify the height of the bar code and also the bar code type.

Barcode fields can also optionally display the encoded value as text below the generated bar code. If you choose to display text for the bar code value, you will need to define font properties for the text.

Barcode fields can be positioned and sized like other field objects. It is important to note that bar codes are not sized to your fields as images in placeable bitmap fields are. You are responsible for ensuring that the barcode field is large enough to hold the bar code and also the text display if you choose to use it. I-32 Forms Design does not check the size of the field as it does with standard data fields.

To insert barcode fields, data fields must be activated. If the button is not pushed in on the Activate tool bar, click on it to activate data fields.

Note:

The barcode field object is only supported for forms in XTemplate format in the current version of I-32 Forms Design 6. However, it will be implemented for SFX forms in future releases.

Note:

Barcode fields are not available in 5.1 compatibility mode.
