This procedure is provided for your assistance in the incident where you need to restore an archived artifact to the InfoDev production server.
IMPORTANT
Due to the potential of overwriting production content, if you have any uncertainties as to how to perform this task, please contact Todd Stupnik or Kel Mankenberg to restore content for you.
Notice
Filenames of the archives are created using the PubAssist FTP profile name and the timestamp of the archived date and time, as with the following example:
DGS Webhelp - Responsive_2017-06-28_090942.zip
- The name of the PubAssist FTP profile was: DGS Webhelp - Responsive
- The timestamp for when the archive was created is: 2017-06-28_090942
So we can deduce the content and the time it was created.
Step-by-step guide
Within the InfoDev staging server, navigate to /~Archives/ProductionArchives and locate the zip file you wish to restore.
Extract the desired archived content to the correct location on the production server.
Digging Deeper
If these steps fail to provide the required content (i.e. you cannot locate the artifact from a date you require): Contact Meloney Lentz in DMR. Tell her you want the “InfoDev Web Help Production Backup” media. She will be able to provide you a listing of what dates she has media for and you can recover that specific piece of media. The media contains a self-extracting executable containing the same files that were present at the time of the archive.
