DITA Best Practices : How to text wrap in Oxygen for use in the Text mode

Previously, topics viewed in the Text mode appeared on one single line.

This article explains how to configure text wrapping in the Text mode through either of the following methods:

  • Using the Format and Indent button
  • Using the Preferences dialog

Using the Format and Indent button:

Using the Format and Indent button on the toolbar will apply text wrapping to an open topic.  

  1. In either the Text or Author mode, right-click on the toolbar and select Configure Toolbars. Verify the Source option is checked, which controls the Format and Indent toolbar option.



    Click OK.

  2. Click the Format and Indent icon in the toolbar to apply text-wrapping.

 

Using the Preferences dialog

Using the Line Wrap option in the Preferences/Editor/Edit modes/Text page will apply text wrapping permanently.

  1. In Oxygen, click the Options menu and select Preferences. Navigate to the Editor/Edit modes/Text node.



  2. In the Editor / Edit modes / Text section, click the Line wrap checkbox. Click OK.
